Description
The Konstantin Chaykin SC02C is a limited-edition mechanical chronograph born from the Manufacture’s research program with Roscosmos, initiated in 2018 to develop a mechanical watch capable of operating during extravehicular activity.
Experimental prototypes developed through the program have participated in four spacewalks, including a six-hour mission outside the space station in May 2026. The SC02C translates the technical solutions developed and tested through this research into a watch adapted for everyday wear.
Limited to just 28 pieces, the SC02C combines a purpose-built 44 mm stainless steel case, extensive protection against extreme environmental conditions, and the hand-wound K.20-5 chronograph caliber.

The SC02C was conceived not simply as a space-inspired watch, but as an instrument developed from actual research conducted in orbit.
Its architecture incorporates feedback from cosmonauts and solutions created specifically for operation under vacuum, g-loads, vibration, magnetic fields and extreme temperature variations. The case is engineered to remain operational in high vacuum down to 1 × 10⁻⁶ atm, while its sapphire crystal uses a reverse dovetail mounting designed to prevent displacement under pressure changes and acceleration.
The rotating 12-hour bezel provides an independent mechanical method of measuring elapsed time during a spacewalk. By aligning the “12” marker with the hour hand, the wearer can track elapsed hours directly from the bezel without relying on the chronograph.
The research continues on Earth with the 28 owners of the SC02C, who can wear the watch under a wide range of conditions and provide performance feedback to the Manufacture.
