Description
Description
The Konstantin Chaykin Bosphorus Joker is a special interpretation of the watchmaker's iconic anthropomorphic Wristmon, created in collaboration with Istanbul-based independent watchmaking boutique Salon Kantièm.
Inspired by the distinctive colours of the Bosphorus, the watch introduces an intense turquoise dial that gives the familiar Joker an unmistakably Istanbul-inspired identity.
The signature anthropomorphic display remains at the heart of the creation: the Joker's left eye indicates the hours, the right eye displays the minutes, while the mouth incorporates the moon-phase indication. As the displays continuously rotate, the expression of the watch changes throughout the day.
Unveiled at Contemporary Istanbul in September 2026, the Bosphorus Joker is produced as a highly exclusive limited edition of only 50 pieces worldwide.
The Concept
The Concept
The Bosphorus Joker combines Konstantin Chaykin's distinctive mechanical humour with one of Istanbul's most recognizable natural features.
Its vivid turquoise colour draws inspiration from the waters of the Bosphorus, translating the character and atmosphere of Istanbul into the expressive architecture of Chaykin's celebrated Joker.
The dial transforms the indication of time into a constantly changing mechanical face. The rotating disc forming the left eye displays the hours, while its counterpart on the right displays the minutes. Together, their changing positions continually alter the Joker's expression.
Below them, the moon-phase indication forms the character's broad smile, with the stylized red Moon appearing as the Joker's tongue.
The watch retains the compact proportions of the contemporary Joker architecture, with a 40 mm stainless-steel case, while the automatic K.18-18 calibre combines a Swiss La Joux-Perret G200 base movement with Konstantin Chaykin's proprietary anthropomorphic display module.
Created in collaboration with Salon Kantièm, the Bosphorus Joker made its world premiere at Contemporary Istanbul, held at Tersane Istanbul from September 22 to 27, 2026. Only 50 examples will be produced.
