Description
Description
The BEHRENS X Vianney Halter - KHW Watch represents one of the boldest collaborations in independent watchmaking. Limited to just 18 pieces – nine in white gold and nine in rose gold – it brings together the inventive spirit of BEHRENS and the retro-futuristic vision of Swiss master Vianney Halter.
Taking inspiration from a vintage electricity meter in Halter’s workshop, the KHW Watch combines avant-garde mechanics with unmistakable design codes. Its case, topped with a tall sapphire crystal, reveals a dense and complex movement of over 870 components, showcasing Behrens’ serpentine chain-driven hours alongside rotating minute, power reserve, and day-night cylinders.
The Concept
The Concept
The KHW Watch is born from a unique cross-cultural dialogue: Vianney Halter’s fascination with vintage industrial instruments, and Behrens’ reputation for technical innovation and bold aesthetics.
The serpentine hours complication, inspired by the video game “Snake,” animates the dial with a luminous dot chased by six smaller ones across a 12-hour cycle. This kinetic playfulness contrasts with the serious horological architecture beneath – a micro-chain supported by ruby bearings, a temperature compensation system, and over 870 components carefully assembled.
On the back, an additional surprise awaits: a moonphase and calendar display integrated into the transparent caseback, further enhancing the watch’s complexity and allure.

ABOUT VIANNEY HALTER
Born in 1963 and trained at the École d’Horlogerie de Paris, Vianney Halter began his career restoring antique timepieces before founding his own workshop in 1989. After moving to Sainte-Croix, he collaborated with François-Paul Journe and Denis Flageollet, creating complications for several maisons. In 1994, he launched Manufacture Janvier, where he developed both bespoke commissions and his own groundbreaking designs.
Halter’s Antiqua watch, a perpetual calendar housed in four distinct portholes, earned him international recognition and cemented his retro-futuristic aesthetic, inspired by Jules Verne and science fiction. He later contributed to projects such as Harry Winston’s Opus 3 and the Cabestan base movement.
In 2013, Halter introduced the Deep Space Tourbillon, featuring a central triple-axis tourbillon, followed in 2020 by the Deep Space Resonance, the result of a decade of development. Today, Vianney Halter stands as one of the most original voices in haute horlogerie, blending uncompromising technical mastery with unique artistic vision.
