Description

The Anton Suhanov Racer Jumping Hour GMT is the first wristwatch created by Russian independent watchmaker Anton Suhanov, following the international recognition of his triple-axis tourbillon table clock, the Black Clock.

Inspired by automotive design and the emotional experience of driving, the Racer Jumping Hour GMT reinterprets time display through an unconventional and highly mechanical approach. Rather than focusing on speed and chronograph functions, Anton Suhanov envisioned a watch centered on the feeling of movement, perception, and mechanical interaction.

Produced in a limited edition of only 20 pieces, this timepiece combines an original display architecture, a complex in-house indication module, and refined traditional finishing techniques.

We have only one piece in stock, the number 16/20

CONCEPT

The Racer Jumping Hour GMT was conceived as a horological interpretation of a car dashboard.

Its dial layout evokes the glance of a driver observing gauges behind the wheel:

  • Retrograde hours positioned at 8 o’clock
  • Retrograde minutes at 4 o’clock
  • Jumping digital GMT display at 12 o’clock
  • Date window at 6 o’clock
  • Dynamic 20-second retrograde seconds scale in the center

At the beginning of each new hour, the retrograde minute hand instantly returns to zero while simultaneously triggering:

  • the jump of the retrograde hour hand
  • the advancement of the digital GMT display

This synchronized mechanical choreography creates a highly animated perception of time.

The case itself reflects Anton Suhanov’s automotive inspiration. Based on a rounded Reuleaux polygon shape, it combines soft curves and technical details inspired by high-performance cars, including double screws, a textured crown, and a distinctive GMT pusher.

Behind the unique display lies an exceptionally complex indication module entirely invented, developed, and manufactured by Anton Suhanov, composed of 172 individual components.
